Go Show John
I have and still am fascinated with the stories of John the Baptist. His conception and birth, his hiding in the wilderness until time to show himself to Israel. His bold voice preaching the gospel and standing against evil even at the cost of his life. His life and ministry was like that of Elijah, and is the life and ministry the world will see in the Church of Jesus Christ before his return.
It was said of John that he did no miracles. He preached, warned, baptized, and told of the coming of Jesus the Savior. Jesus himself said that he was the greatest prophet ever born up to that time. He also is given for a sign. John Ushered in a dispensation of grace where people would be so hungry for the Kingdom of God. (See Matthew 11:2-15)
There was a time in the life of Elijah when he was so threatened by Jezebels witchcrafts that he ran away and turned, tried to hide. He even tried to get God to take his life. But God, just like with John, kept him until his replacement came. (1 Kings 19)
Now John being arrested and put in prison, is hearing stories about a miracle worker. He knew who the Messiah was by sight. Now, he could not look and hear witness as before. Always desiring to show people the true way of God, John wanted to make sure of whom his disciples were following now, for he knew his time on earth was almost over. He sent two of his disciples to see if this miracle worker was the real thing. “Art thou, he that should come or do we look for another? “(verse 3)
The response of Jesus is quite interesting. He didn't try to prove who he was by some theological discourse, nor did he use documents, diplomas, ordination cards or proclaim how many doctorates he had. He simply did what he had always been doing and would continue to do the rest of his time here. “The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up the poor have the gospel preached to them.” (verse five) He said, “Go and show John again those things which ye do here and see.” (verse 4) Remember, they had already told John about these works. Now Jesus says show him again!
The Bible is God's book of miracles from beginning to end, page after page! This record of God shows us that this Jesus was and is a miracle worker!
I know that many of you reading this have experienced God's miracles in your life. Let me tell you that those that those miracles are still available for you today! God has not changed! Jesus said to believe him because of the miracles. (John 10:37-38) Faith in God will produce these same miracles today! All things are possible with God and all things are possible to them that believe. (Mark 9:23 and Mark 10:27)
I know in my heart today that many of you need a miracle from God. You have desperate situations that only Christ can fix. I want to see you receive that miracle breakthrough that will change the course of your life forever. Start thinking about the times and things that God has already done for you. Meditate on them and start to talk about them again. Listen to the testimony of others, read the Bible and listen to good, anointed preaching. These all will build faith in you so that you can start to seek out the power of God you need and receive a miracle.
Jesus said to go and show John again what you hear and see! If that was his response for John, it is for us also.
We would enjoy receiving your miracle needs and prayer requests. Please let us agree with you in prayer. Our God honours His Word and when we pray in agreement with faith, miracles will happen!
We look forward to hearing from you, rejoicing with you in your great time of miracles.
